Kupwara
The district of Kupwara is adjacent to the district of Bandipora. The village of Kupwara offers picturesque views of beautiful mountains and green lush woods. This village is spread over an area of 4.10 km2. According to the latest census of 2011, the total population of the area is 21,771.
The climate remains moderate but sunny during summers and during winters this place receives heavy snowfall. The spring starts from March and lasts up to May. In this season the trees grow new leaves and the flowers bloom. The special almond trees grow their white and pink shaded flowers during spring. The Autumn season is the best for harvesting. A majority of people remain busy in fields and orchards during this time.
The literacy rate of this area is 86.6%. About 84% of people here, follow the Islam religion. Other religions like Hinduism, Christianity, and Sikhism are also followed by a little percentage.
Lolab valley in Kupwara is the main attraction of this district. It is known for its lush green valleys, picturesque views, and gushing rivers and streams. Other valleys in Lolab are also famous for their beauty including Seemab valley and Bungus valley.
Sadhna pass viewpoint is another attraction in district kupwara. It is located in the lap of the Himalayas that connects Karnah tehsil with the rest of the valley. The nearest train station is in Baramulla, from the district of Baramulla it will take you 1 hour and 25 minutes by cab to reach.
