General Zorawar Fort
The owner of the
General Zorawar Fort
was General Zorawar Singh who was a military general. The general died in a battle after conquering the Ladakh and Baltistan. He served as the governor of the district Kishtwar. He is known for his victories against the Chinese army.
This fort is also known as the
Riasi fort
and is a must-see tourist place in Ladakh. The fort provides an ancient glimpse of the history. The best time to visit here is from June-September, as the climate remains moderate here during this time.
The fort is accessible by cab from the main market of Leh or you can go by walk from the Leh market, and it will take you almost 30 minutes.
