When does Badamwari blossom?
Late February to mid-March in a normal year, for about three weeks. A warm spell can bring it forward by a week; a cold one pushes it back.
Kashmiris treat the blossom as the formal end of winter, and families come out for it in numbers on the weekends. It is the earliest thing worth seeing in the valley's flowering calendar, roughly a month ahead of the tulips.
