Dachigam National Park
is located in the Zabarwan range of the Himalayas. The park covers an area of 141 km sq. The altitude ranges from 5500 ft to 14000 ft above sea level. The park is under the observation of the concerned Government authorities. This place has been declared a national park in 1981.
The area that come under the park area was actually taken by the government in order to to make a supply of pure water from here but later in 1981, the government declared it a national park, hence named as
Dachigam National Park.
The ground of the park ranges from the slopes to hill cliffs. The terrains are covered with woods. You can get to see a vast leaf species. The area covers a large variety of alpine pastures, meadows, and medicinal herbs. There are some waterfalls in the park as well. From the high altitudes, you get to witness the
Dagwan River
in which the water of Marsar lake flows. This water flows down the park and is also known for fish cultivation.
Dachigam National Park is also home to many wildlife creatures, as they may have a threat to get extinct.
Kashmiri Stag or Hangul
is one of them. Other animals include musk deer, leopard, Himalayan black bear, jackal, hill fox, Kashmiri grey langur, jungle cat, and others.
Many birds made this place their home as they get the proper habitat to survive. Black bulbul, minivet, woodpecker, babbler, wagtail, chough, orange bullfinch, redstart, titmouse, and many more. The cab provided by

How to reach:-
From the Srinagar International Airport, it will take you almost 30 minutes to reach.
From Jammu, this park is 158 km far away, and it will take you almost 8 hours by cab.
