Drang
Drang
is one of the tourist places in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Srinagar. It lies on the north side of the Kashmir valley. This place is suitable for a day picnic on your way to Gulmarg and Tangmarg.
Drang is very much similar to that of another tourist destination Pahalgam. It has the same gushing brooks that run through the various streams. There is a fast water stream that is known as
Ferozpur Nallah
. This stream flows at a very high speed in Summers and during winters,
Drang receives heavy snowfall, due to which the water gets frozen.
The frozen water-fall looks very beautiful and alluring during winters. Although this place has no hotels, restaurants, and lodges in its surroundings. However, the tourists can stay at Tangmarg which is only 3 kilometers away from Drang.
This place is perfect for hill-climbing and fishing. Trout fishes can be found in a huge amount in the flowing streams. There is also a park at the banks of Ferozpur Nallah which has now become a favorite destination for tourists. Some visitors also like to trek from Tangmarg, for it’s the easiest trek of only 3 kilometers.
Drang is a beautiful village having the most beautiful backdrops of the mountains and hilltops of Gulmarg. The beauty of the valley is still raw and untouched. Around the village of Drang, there are some of the mud-huts that are built by the locals of this village. It acts as the cherry on the top of the beauty of this valley.
