Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara stands on the southern slope of Hari Parbat in Srinagar and is associated with Guru Hargobind, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs. It is the best known Sikh shrine in the valley, faced in white marble, with a rectangular prayer hall, a terrace and a kitchen that serves langar every day to anyone who comes.

Why is it called Chatti Padshahi?
The name means the sixth sovereign, a title for Guru Hargobind, whom tradition links to this site during his travels.
The gurdwara is both a working place of worship for Srinagar's Sikh community and one of the more visited religious sites in the city. Congregations are large on Sikh festival days.
What is langar, and can visitors eat?
A free community meal cooked and served daily in the gurdwara kitchen. Anyone may sit and eat, whatever their faith.
Cover your head, remove your shoes, and sit where the volunteers direct you. It is offered rather than sold, and the same food goes to everyone in the row.
How do you visit?
It stands on the Hari Parbat road, minutes from the old city, and it is open through the day.
